Be a winemaker,

it's quite a story

Being a winemaker is a demanding job... It requires skills in geology, biology, chemistry and meteorology... botany and even in the kitchen... Therefore, we will understand that to be a winemaker, one must be motivated. In fact, more than a profession, it is a vocation, which involves a passionate relationship with Mother Nature in general, and her vines in particular.

To be a winemaker is to know agricultural techniques and scientific methods but without ever giving up his instincts and his sense of improvisation in order, in the end, to give his wines a real personality, a strong identity and even a small soul supplement.

To be a winemaker is of course to look for a result but without ever compromising on how to get it. Quality, yes! but not at any price! So it takes time... A lot of time. It is necessary to operate at the rhythm of the vines and the grapes, throughout the year, whether it rains, whether it is windy or snowing, from pruning to harvest, from production to the marketing of the wines...

Finally, being a winemaker is not just a profession, it's a lifetime.

Domaine Becht

A story that lasts

Domaine Pierre and Frédéric Becht? It is a long story that is written from generation to generation. A love story first, for good wine. Respect then, for the nature that produces it. Success at last, with exceptional vintages.

The family winery is located in Dorlisheim, a village located in Alsace, about 25 km west of Strasbourg. The Domain has been perpetuating its passion for more than four generations. Today, Frédéric Becht is the head of the family business. It combines technological evolution with ancestral know-how with the utmost respect for vines and wine.

The Becht House operates, in reasoned viticulture, an area of 20 hectares divided between the Dorlisheim vineyard (10 hectares) and the place called Stierkopf in Mutzig (10 hectares). The Domain produces a wide range ofAOC ; Cremants, still white, rosé and red wines, Late Harvests, Selections of Noble Grains and Eau-de-vie from its orchards.

Our goal: to take into account the adequacy between the terroir and the vine and to rediscover this expression through our wines. Our challenge lies in two words: innovation and Creativity.

our philosophy

Bottle full of ideas

because ithe returns to both the spirituality and the art of living, there is panointed of wine with a hint of philosophy. And no philosophy without rational study of nature! To taste the wines of the Domaine Becht, all that must be considered are, in, origin and traditions, expertise and developments, soil, rain, sun and wind; vines and grapes of course, technique (s) and talent (s) course of nature in general and land in particular. This is why Becht wines, rich and easy to drink, fruity and intoxicating, are primarily considered as an epicurean link between Earth and men.

"I know of serious down here that the culture of the vine"

Voltaire

The secret of good wines

The secret of the quality of Domaine Becht wines? Well ... First there is the terroir, of course. And winemaking of course. There is work and commitment, of course. There is the state of mind and good taste of course. But it is the heart they put into it that gives their wines their strength and finesse, their quality and their accuracy.

Yet the point of sentimentality. Becht in the family, it is motivated by a very concrete project: give drink wines that speak the best of Alsace to the palace informed tasters.
